What in The World is Chris Dew Ministries?

From before I can remember, I had a severe stuttering problem, as well as a seemingly uncommon emptiness in my soul. At a very young age, I started trying to find anything that would fill that void and calm my nerves. This quest eventually led me to drugs, and by the time I was 17, I was a full blown IV heroin addict.
On Christmas Eve 2010, I heard the gospel and Jesus saved me. From that point on, nothing has been the same. I had a taste of the pleasure I had been looking for my whole life. The hopelessness I once felt was filled with unshakeable hope. Shortly after that, I felt a call to preach the gospel. Over the next 4 years, Jesus began to heal my speech and open up opportunities to love people, share my story, and preach the gospel.
In June of 2015, we officially launched Chris Dew Ministries with the aim of seeing as many people as possible SAVED, SATISFIED, and SENT on mission by Jesus Christ, just like I have been. God surrounded me with an incredible team of gifted people and started opening up lots of opportunities to preach the gospel. We are not the most experienced leaders, I am still not the most eloquent speaker, and I don’t have the most Bible knowledge, but God has done more than we could have ever dreamed. To date, we’ve spoken at nearly 100 events and have seen over 2,000 people make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and we’re praying that Jesus is just getting started.
This is WHY we exist… to see people SAVED, SATISFIED, and SENT on mission by Jesus Christ...
SAVED
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:13-14)
VISION- We exist to see people saved by Jesus Christ. All of us are born into this world separated from God because of our sin, without the ability to save ourselves. God sent his Son Jesus Christ to Earth to live a perfect life, die in our place, and be raised again. If we repent of our sin and place our faith in Christ, we will be saved. We will continue to preach the gospel until everyone has had the opportunity to hear this message and be saved.
PRACTICAL- This practically looks like us traveling around this blue and green ball that we call Earth, preaching the gospel at churches, youth camps, conferences, rehab centers, outreach events, and really any place that would give us the opportunity to share the gospel. We aim to present the gospel in the clearest way anyone has ever preached it, straight from the Bible, and in a way that connects with even the most hardened atheist.
SATISFIED
“He makes known to me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy and at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11)
VISION- We exist to see people satisfied in Jesus Christ. Nothing in this world can satisfy our souls - all the sex, money, fame, drugs, family, and comfort still leaves us empty. The only way for us to be truly satisfied is to be reconciled to God and to feast on His endless pleasures. Too many Christians are playing with mud pies in a slum when there is a holiday at sea available to them (reference CS Lewis). We will continue to proclaim the excellencies of Christ until everyone is deeply satisfied with Jesus Christ as their greatest treasure.
PRACTICAL- We are 100% committed to seeing people saved, and we’re also 100% committed to seeing them discipled to know God intimately. We do this by connecting each person who responds to the gospel to a person in their city, a Bible, and a next step. We play the role of the evangelist in the body of Christ, and we aim to make sure each person who makes a profession of faith is equipped to continue to follow Jesus and is under the care of a pastor in their context.
SENT
“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15-16)
VISION- We exist to see people sent on mission by Jesus Christ. A person who has truly been saved and tasted the delights of Jesus Christ will share Him with others. The fields of salvation are ripe for harvest right now. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. We will not stop preaching the gospel and compelling people to enter the work of making disciples until this whole world has been reached!
PRACTICAL- While we preach sermons to compel people to enter the work of making disciples, the main way that we seek to see people sent on mission is to invest in pastor’s lives. If pastors are abiding in Jesus, healthy, and overflowing joy in Jesus, their churches are going to be reaching their communities. We seek to love and encourage pastors and leaders at every church we speak at to build strong, lasting, life-giving relationships. We seek to add value into the lives, marriages, and ministries of as many spiritual leaders as possible.
This is WHY we exist and some of the practical ways that we do what the Lord has called us to.
